AdWords

June 10th, 2009

It seems that AdWords are becoming more popular in jargon that is tossed around between business owners. But, what exactly are AdWords? How do you pay?

AdWords is Google’s pay-per-click (PPC) marketing answer. What does this mean? Well, the ads you create in Google’s AdWords appear in relavent searches (the keywords you bid on) and the content ads you decided on (if you chose any). If your potential customer clicks on your ad, you pay a specific bid amount for that click. We better get them to do something on your website!

You want to advertise elsewhere?…diversify! Each of the “Big 3″ search engines has their own advertising section where you can user PPC on selected keywords. Think of this as AdWords, only in Yahoo! and Bing. (previously known as MSN/Live).

AdWords is a TM of Google, much like Kleenex is the TM for facial tissues.
