Rebrand and signage retrofit

Case Study

Towards the end of 2020, Cascade Christian Schools (CCS) reached out to us to begin a discussion on a school wide rebrand that they wanted to complete in the Summer of 2021. We began by scouting their six locations, including their district office. We’ve had a history with CCS in the past designing and building a monument sign for their McAlder Elementary location just off Orting Hwy. 

After assessing each location’s current signage, we built a working spreadsheet of what was needed to be replaced to then gather estimates. We provided an estimate to replace the signage at each location as is, and also gave options to enhance the signage look and materials. Throughout the first and second quarters of 2021, we developed schedules to get all signage in place for a swift changeover during the Summer. MADCAP Marketing provided print ready graphics for all signage and we took it from there. 

Various materials were used throughout the rebrand. For all campuses, we built a “seal” which consisted of a 3’ circle custom cut out of acrylic. It was then laid over with 3m vinyl printed in their PMS colors and a ½” thick acrylic badge that gave the sign extra dimension. The final product was then installed in the entry ways of each location using 1” aluminum standoffs to give a clean and professional final appearance. 

For other campuses, we replaced Aluminum signage, polycarbonate panels in light boxes, retrofitted cabinet signs from fluorescent bulbs to LED’s for a more efficient and high energy sign product. For their Jr/Sr High School, we removed an old dingy building sign that was flat and outdated and replaced it with Internally illuminated LED Channel Letters and a Channel Letter Logo Shield. The sign now has impact when pulling into the campus, can be seen at night, and gives the school a more professional appearance. 

At their McAlder campus, we have designed and are building a new monument sign to include digital 16mm Optec Readerboards so they can have access to a message center that is more modern. We worked with Pierce County to obtain the correct permits to allow us to make this sign possible in the zone the school resides in. All sign permits were drawn up and produced by SignDog.
